From a childhood filled with drawing and painting to his studies in Textile & Product Design at the Fashion Institute Of Technology in his home town of New York City, the primary motivation of Peter D’Ascoli’s work as a designer has always been a desire to create value through beauty. Driven by curiosity and inspired by a passion for historic decoration and exotic cultures, Peter D’Ascoli’s career has led him around the world studying arts and crafts and working with artisans and production managers to create products for interiors & fashion. He has held several high profile positions over the course of his three decades in the fashion industry, including Studio Director for Diane von Furstenberg, Creative Director at Covington Industries, and as Designer of the best-selling Waverly vintage fabric collections. However, the job that most profoundly influenced his work was his first, right out of school, when he spent two years working for the Indian Government’s Handicrafts & Handloom Export Corporation traveling across India developing traditional crafts for contemporary markets.
In March of 2006, after Globalization swept most product development to Asia, and after more than twenty years of designing and directing studios in New York City, Peter established the Talianna Studio in India to tap that country’s vast creative resources and to be closer to the factories producing his designs.
My experience in retail spans nearly three decades of both national as well as international experience. From financial analytics to decision support, experience shows that the Chief Executive’s office must be a catalyst in a high-performance culture-especially in start-ups.The key to success also lies in a business leader going behind the numbers and spending more time on analytical processes, while simultaneously reducing the effort one spends on transactional processes. I now run a business advisory company-SNS Global Concepts which advises business houses and helps them grow.

Over the course of a decade spent on the Subcontinent, Emmanuel Balayer has become one of India’s most successful brand managers, connecting luxury goods to one of the world’s most robust and complex consumer communities. Beginning with his time as Regional Director for the Indo-French Chamber of Commerce & Industry in 2002, Balayer has built a career on his unique understanding of the Indian luxury market and ensuring that a diversity of brands and clients waste no time in positioning themselves within it.
Since founding his own consultancy firm, Emmanuel Balayer Consultancy Services (EBCS), in 2006, Balayer has shepherded some of the world’s foremost luxury brands into the Indian market. Balayer’s intensive strategy and marketing process hinges on his ability to quickly and creatively identify brand partnerships that generate a rich and meaningful shorthand for new consumers. Working with EBCS, brands like Tod’s, BMW, Rolls Royce, Aman Resorts, VacheronConstantin and others have emerged powerfully on the Subcontinent, while lifestyle spaces like Aer at the Four Seasons and Olive Bar & Kitchen in Delhi, launched with EBCS, have permanently redrawn the topography of Indian style. With his deep, extensive network across India, Asia, Europe and North America, and a keen eye for upcoming trends and existing lacunae in the market, Balayer has launched successful endeavors in real estate and as been appointed Senior Vice-President at North-India Sotheby’s International Reality.
Whether developing a creative marketing strategy to relaunch a venerable brand, or providing clear-sighted insights into the mechanics of the Indian market, Balayer understands that a brand’s identity is not decided by the brand itself, but by the community of consumers. Developing a successful strategy that will function through all stages of a brand’s life cycle requires a rare kind of cultural and creative fluency – precisely the kind of fluency that Balayer brings to every project.
